Happy New Year from all at Leddra HQ!
2013 looks set to be a special year and Leddra will be kicking it off with a batch of activity. On January 8th a special charity single will be released - Beauty With Heart by Leddra Chapman in association with The Body Shop and Teenage Cancer Trust. Keep an eye out online in the coming week for that, it promises to be a very special release. Following this, Leddra will commence a UK headline tour. Head over to Leddra’s website for full dates and ticket info. In February Leddra will then release a brand new EP featuring 5 tracks produced by Peter Vettese. We hope that as many of you as possible can get involved in the above and into the Summer at the festivals. Leddra HQ.
"…2012 is over and it really has been one to remember. This time last year, one of my resolutions was to do my very own headline tour - which thanks to you all I did and I felt very fortunate to play to so many full rooms across the country. I also wanted to go and write in LA: and so we set about making it happen however possible, including booking my tickets before knowing where I was going to stay! I ended up having a great time working with some hugely talented writers, producers and musicians; an experience I will not forget.
So, 2013 resolutions: the big one is to put my second album out. I’ve written dozens (and dozens!) of songs since Telling Tales, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Some you will have heard at gigs and online - they may even be more familiar than the Telling Tales songs now. Before this happens, though, there will be an EP (produced by Peter Vettese) released in February. Look out for updates on my Facebook page for names, previews, dates, etc. Also in February and into March my debut album will be released for the first time in Germany, Austria & Switzerland via Dramatico Entertainment. This brings me on to another resolution: play some shows in these territories. Watch this space.
Some 2012 thank-you’s: Peter Vettese (musical genius and amazing friend), Dan Gautreau (we’ve got some amazing tunes written together & thank you for keeping me sane in this whirlwind industry), Ali Thomson, James & Emily at Elastic, Anton at DHP, Nick Jones & Nick Rosen (for taking care of me in LA!), Liz & all at The Orchard, Marta & all at Quiksilver, Will, Charlotte, Simon, Jade, Sam & all at The Body Shop family. Lastly my management: Simon, James and Nick (they’ve looked after me since I was 15 and somehow put up with my craziness whilst believing in it at the same time!)
Most of all I want to say thank you so much to everybody who has read this far, who supports my music, who comes to the gigs, follows me online. Whenever things aren’t 100% or I am having a bad day, your messages inspire me and I am reminded why I started writing songs in the first place. I can’t wait to see you all again - come along to a date on the tour at the end of this month, I want to meet all of you.”
Happy New Year. LC xxx
